Good start, but fairly useless for now. You cant export a formatted citation into a paper, or even just copy it and paste it in formatted form. Its just a PDF library for now...

The much needed improvement: - being unable to hide the library in the horizontal view is nonsense. On the ipad, when you read something, the idea of the horizontal view is that you increase the font size and reading become nicer than in vertical view. Here, you turn your ipad and then you just get the library and thats it... I personally dont see the point. - the mendeley reader is also a huge step back to any other pdf reader on the ipad. I mean you need to do something specific to scientific papers, thats all the point of mendeley, not just another (worse than the other) pdf reader. All the white space around the text in scientific papers is very easy to detect and could be remove easily. - in general the reading experience is far from what we could expect, and hope. Expect for these points which do not seem impossible to improve, the application looks very promising.
Its rubbish... Desktop app is great though.
As an engineer student, it is by far the best application for paper reading and use. I highly recommend it
I wonder if the developers have already tried to use this appli.... Son many flaws!
This version is stable no crash until now even if I download big PDFs. The design of the app can be improved. But it is practical for a daily usage.
Mendeley is great! Now I have my library everywhere I go. Try the desktop application too if you havent yet.
It works perfectly in my iPad 2 - The only problem I can see is that the user have to use the Mendeleys PDF reader; this is a bit annoing, regarding it is not possible to open files in another similar format reader. However, this is a very small problem - I strongly reccomend this app!
I just love mendeley as a research tool. I would love even more to use it daily at the train on my iPad. But without support to highliting and taking notes, I am considering using another solution. I would pay for that.
This software is revolutionary.
Simple, absolutely useful! The best app for reference managing! Integrates perfectly with the desktop and web versions.
Very good app to keep your scientific journal articles organized. You can even export the citations do word, open office or latex.
Its a powerful tool for my research and it is free. I got a perfect integration with this.
This application do the basic in relation to sync you library and make simple annotations in the PDFs files. However, the search features are fairly limited (eg.: its not possible to search for your tags), making it NOT so easy and fluid to find a file.
Hi, I can reproduce a bug: when I open the app and click on any of my folders it crashes. But if I hit "all documents" FIRST and then navigate to those folders, they show up fine. More features of desktop version should be added! please integrate working-features like syncable(!!, bidirectional) comments, notes and markings!!!!!!!! Maybe also a swipe2delete + organizing/grouping functions for document-lists. Thanks. Still Love the concept. Good app, but much to improve. 3/5.
the last update of the ipad client reduced the number of crashes drastically. thanks for that. when rotating the ipad, though, it still keeps crashing. even worse: the changes i made to my databae in the client are not synced at all to the mendeley service, i.e. my linux-client as well as online. Without syncing, the ipad client can not be used. In terms of functionality, the app is still as limited as it was before. Verdict: not usable.
I cannot even see the app running. It just crashes when I try to open it.
The app is very usefull to review papers while relaxing on the couch, BUT a key element is missing - the highlight function! It bothers me that there is no possibility to highlight interesting parts of the text and even more sad is the fact that no highlighting which I have done on my desktop is visible in the papers on my iPad. I am willing to pay few bucks for an app which allows me to work everywhere but in this version it is just a little help in the evening...
Its a shame, even in this version Mendeley is not running on iPad. Mendeley Desktop is great on the pc, but completely useless on iPad. It crashes at every start.
Wow, I like mendeley, but this version for ipad sucks completely
