Mendeley (PDF Reader) App Reviews

Mendeley everywhere I go

Drag and drop a PDF onto Mendeley Desktop is magical. Mendeley automatically imports the document, creating the reference entry and adding the PDF to the library. That means that I can access my articles on the go from my phone, which is great for catching up on reading.

Please add iOS share sheet support

I love Mendeley but I need a way to import documents on the iOS app. Please add share sheet support!

Review/feedback

Hello, I know this is supposed to be a review, but can you please add a bookmarking feature to the application. I often use the application to read long articles and textbooks. It would be very helpful to have a set of bookmarks so that I can quickly locate the information that I need. It is critical as an academic to have this feature.

Search feature broken

The search feature cant seem to find articles, either by title or by tag.

Seemed promising

But does not support epup files. Strictly pdf.

Nice try, but still missing (and broken) key features

I love having my digital library at my fingertips, and with exporting to iAnnotate, it works out alright, I suppose. However, the search feature is broken. "No matches" for title, tags, or author, which is frustrating. Also, Id like to echo the need for multiple tabs in the app. Designers - are you out there? Is there an update coming?? Please?

Amazing!

This is still a new app but Im blown away by how well it works already! It syncs annotations and has been very stable. Looks great on iPhone 6 Plus. Considering how young this app is, I expect to see further improvements as time goes on. An excellent start--the app is totally useable and stable from the beginning. Glad to see this finally hit iOS!

Very reliable

This is by far the best way to organize research paper. However, reading in ipad can still be improved, one possible design is to support multiple tabs because it is often necessary to switch between different pdfs.

Excellent app

Works very well on iPad and syncs effortlessly with Mendeley desktop on my PC. Better than Endnote and Zotero.

Very good

Now it works a lot better than it used to be

Not perfect by any means but a big help

Mendeley was the first program of this type I used, so it has the comfort of familiarity. I noticed that a couple of websites I visited have ReadCube embedded. So Im using Mendeley and ReadCube side by side for comparison. ReadCube is cleaner looking and prettier, but although Mendeley looks more pedestrian, I like to have everything there in sight rather than a minimalist design where youre not always sure where to find the function you want to use. The search engine of one may be superior to the other, but if so, its not yet apparent to me. It would be great if these programs could integrate with ResearchGate; now THAT would be a REAL timesaver. Finally, ReadCubes free online archive/sync limit is 300 Mb whereas Mendeleys is 2 Gb. Theres probably a way around paying for more using Dropbox or whatever, but its just simpler to pay for extra space.

Great for research!!!

As a Medical doctor, as a teacher And as a scientist I can say it works fine with Mendeley Desktop

Great Science App

I find this to be one of the best apps, being a scientist. I use it constant and it really helps to stay organized. One improvement I would like to see is some automatic removal feature from the iPad. As I continue to read papers and download them to my iPad mendeley will start to take up a ton of space. It would be nice if there was a feature that automatically removed files from iPad storage if they havent been read in some period of time unless they are starred or something.

Best out there

While not perfect, its close. Much closer than the alternatives. It is an integral part of my reference management system.

fhfhvz

this crap is not bank account so you keep on asking for log in again and again. there must be an option for stay logged in forever instead of making it so intolerable as if I am saving my million dollar lottery document in this crap.

Good Start

This is a good start and a great way to start organizing research articles for any student professor or professional. Lots of room to improve the PDF reader to include more annotation options such as free hand writing, shapes, and audio notes. PLEASE add support for these to work with iPad Pro + APPLE PENCIL.

Crashing

Always crashes when I try to type down some notes onto it. Its very annoying. Please fix it soon

Essential

Its one of these apps that makes you wonder how did you use to function without it. A must-have app if you were a researcher or a student.

Mendeley app works well

Very convenient for organizing references.
